calcium reactor regulator/solenoid issues
I have a uniweld regulator with a solenoid and the thing will not adjust the pressure and no co2 is leaving the bottle and into the reactor. I have fiddled with the screw on the front of the regulator and the pressure never changes up or down with the screw all the way out or all the way closed. The needle for the tanks capacity is at 800 so that is working just not the pressure side. Any ideas????? Thanks
For what it is worth this is my exact reactor just smaller and the same regulator as well. Although I have a pH probe in the lid of the reactor. http://www.melevsreef.com/calcium_reactor.html |

mine does the same thing Eran. I think that they just get old and need replaced every couple of years. I have to adjust mine a couple of times per day. A major pain. I give it too many bubbles and within a couple of hours I have none. I give it even more bubbles and water breaks throght the seal from the air pressure

I have the same issue on the tank side indicator.
I was talking to Dragon1013 and he said there is a diaphragm inside the regulator that goes bad and can end up being a dangerous situation if you keep applying pressure (opening valve) which builds up inside regulator and can explode through the dial indicators. He says he has seen it happen on welding regulators. ....... ![]() |

Mine is the Milwaukee. I think that the issue is in the brass fitting with the bubble indicator on it, but could be wrong.
